No legalisation or notarisation required

Engaging Wern as your representative in Norway and before the EUIPO is straightforward. No legalisation or notarisation is required, and we can commence work as soon as we receive your instructions.

Before we can act formally in dealings with the Norwegian IPO, a Power of Attorney must be in place. It can be signed electronically, and we are happy to issue a Docusign request if that is easier.

For Norwegian trademark filings, the Power of Attorney may be signed after the application has been submitted.

No Power of Attorney is needed for representation before the EUIPO.

What we do

We assist international clients and IP firms with all aspects of trade mark filing, prosecution and protection in Norway and before the EUIPO. Our work is precise, efficient and aligned with the expectations of experienced IP professionals.

Pre-filing assessments

Evaluating availability, identifying potential conflicts and assessing registrability before filing.

Application filing

Handling office actions

Oppositions and observations

Acting in opposition proceedings and submitting third-party observations.

Recordals

Handling assignments, changes of name or address, licences and other recordal requirements.

Renewals and portfolio management

Comprehensive support

The list above is not exhaustive. Additional information about our trademark services can be found here.

EUIPO filing and prosecution specialists

As an authorised representative before the EUIPO, we offer the same depth of expertise at European level as we do in Norway.

We assist with clearance, EUTM filings, refusals, oppositions, recordals and portfolio administration, providing a unified standard of quality across both jurisdictions.

This allows international clients and IP firms to work with a single, consistent representative who understands how matters progress across both Norwegian and EU proceedings.

Our story

Wern is a practice focused exclusively on trademarks and brand protection. We were established to offer international clients and IP firms a modern and highly responsive alternative in Norway, with the same level of support extended to EUIPO matters. Our work combines strong technical expertise with a clear and efficient way of handling matters.
